COVID-19 Updates

COVID-19 Updates

To our valued patients,

Due to COVID-19, there will be changes to our normal office protocol that we want to communicate with you. We are complying with the MOA (Michigan Optometric Association), AOA (American Optometric Association), and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines, in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.  If you are scheduled for or need to make an appointment, please read carefully as our protocols for checking in have changed significantly.

If you have an appointment scheduled

All patients who have upcoming appointments are required to complete online registration before their appointment.  Please click on this link to complete if you have an upcoming appointment: https://compulinkadvantageweb.com/dev/register/accountappts/index/3113 If you do not have internet access or for some reason cannot complete it online, please call our office to have a staff member assist you in verbally giving this information over the phone. You can fill this out anytime before your scheduled appointment, but we will be unable to start your appointment until this is completed. This will expedite the check in process, streamline your visit, and reduce the need for pens, paper, and clipboards which can contribute to the spread of germs. Please fill out the information to the best of your ability. If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 616-891-2020.

Per AOA, CDC, and MOA guidelines, we are making it possible to postpone routine visits and preventative care.  If you feel your appointment is of a preventative nature, we would ask that you reschedule to a future date.  Examples of preventative care would be if you feel your vision is unchanged, you are seeing well out of your current eyewear and not experiencing any symptoms of blur, strain or fatigue. We will be extending contact lens prescriptions so that you can order through our office without being seen.  If you are not seeing well with your current eyewear or it is lost or broken; or if you are experiencing eye strain, vision changes or blur, headaches, pain, sudden decrease in vision, redness, or any other symptoms you are concerned about, we can keep your appointment as scheduled. We are able also to see patients via telehealth visits for certain types of appointments (red eye, allergies, some medical concerns).  Please contact our office to find out if a telehealth visit may be the best option for you!

When you arrive for your appointment, please text us at 616-891-2020 from your car to inform us of your arrival and the color/type of car you are in.  You will then receive a text message linking to our {wellness form}, which is a short questionnaire required to screen for any symptoms that are related to COVID-19. Please fill out the questionnaire.  A member of our staff will meet you at the door when we are ready to see you to provide a clean mask, hand sanitizer, and take your temperature upon entering the building.  Only the patient who is scheduled will be allowed to enter the building. If the patient is under 18, they can be accompanied by only one guardian.

Glasses pick up and adjustments

Your eyewear will be mailed to you, unless other arrangements were discussed at check out with the optician.  We are not able to do in office adjustments at this time, but can provide curbside assistance Monday-Wednesday 10am-4pm by appointment only. Please call our office if you would like to schedule for curbside service at 616-891-2020.

Contact lenses

We are still able to order contacts and ship them to your house.  If you are overdue for your appointment, but feel that your vision is unchanged and that your contacts are comfortable, we will extend your prescription if you order through us.  We can then schedule you at a later date for your routine eye care.

The experience at Caledonia Vision Center may feel different during these times, but our goal is still the same: to give you the best possible experience and meet your needs while taking extra measures to keep everyone safe and healthy!

Thank you for your patience and understanding!
